Western boots & western wear

Spur & Stitch

Spur & Stitch is an independent review site covering western boots and western wear, published by Selena Hann. Western boot sizing runs unlike any other footwear, so the site is built around fit and construction. It earns commissions on some of the products it recommends. It is not live yet.

Spur & Stitch — Western boots & western wear

About Spur & Stitch

The site is for anyone buying western footwear without a bootmaker nearby to ask — the first-pair buyer who does not know a roper from a stockman, the rider who needs a specific heel and shank, and the person who already owns a pair and is deciding whether a resole is worth more than the boots cost new. Coverage runs from entry-price boots through welted work pairs, plus the jeans, belts and hats that get bought alongside them.

Buying here is hard because almost nothing transfers from regular shoe shopping. Boot sizing is its own system, it differs between lasts from the same maker, and a wide calf or a high instep rules out whole catalogs without any label saying so. On top of that, the words on a product page do most of the deceiving: genuine leather is the lowest grade sold, handcrafted is unregulated, and a cemented sole and a Goodyear welt look identical in a photograph while living entirely different lives. The site translates those terms into what they mean for a boot you will wear for years.

Selena Hann publishes the site. It makes money through affiliate commissions when a reader buys through one of its links, and it says so on the page rather than in a footer nobody opens. Where a pair can be handled and worn in, that is described as first-hand; where a recommendation rests on construction details, maker reputation and owner reports instead, the page says that plainly. No brand pays for a position in a ranking.

Verifying Spur & Stitch?

Spur & Stitch is published by Selena Hann, who also publishes the other 9 sites listed on this portfolio. It is funded by affiliate commissions on some of the products it recommends, and nothing else — no paid placements, no sponsored rankings.

The editorial standards it operates under, including where hands-on testing happens and where it does not, are on the about page. If you are an affiliate network, a brand, or a reader checking who is behind this, email contact@juniperreviews.com.
